Army Officer Shot Dead in Bayelsa by Suspected Cult Group

An Officer, Mr Fatai, of the 16 Brigade on Yenogoa was shot dead by suspected members of the Icelanders Cult group.

The report from preliminary army investigatios was that Mr Fatai was shot fatally and died at Igbogenw Junctions in Yenogoa Local Government Area, Bayelsa State.

The sad incident took place in his home around 09:12pm on 22nd of July.

Also, reports state that the officer was hijacked and shot by the Icelanders Cult leader, a certain Mr Confidence.

Military officer Fatai was pronounced dead on arrival to the hospital.

Here is the statement;

“Suspected members of Icelanders cult group led by one Mr Confidence attacked and shot 08NA/61/2298 CPL Abbas Fatai of 16 Brigade at Igbogene Junction in Yenagoa LGA of Bayelsa State,” the message read in part.

Mr Fatai’s body is currently deposited at the Federal Medical Center in Yenogoa. And the Army has commenced a manhunt for the supposed killer.
